Last August the Nokia 130 was announced and with a €19 price tag this caused a bit of a stir in the media, the 130 would be considered a dumb phone and going back to Nokias old ways plus it has a fantastic battery life which is said to be 36 days on standby or about 12-13 hours talk time,Sadly the device never did quite hit many markets including our own and there was no uptake on it despite much interest..Back then the Nokia Ireland official twitter account even stated they would not be ranging this model and stated it would not range here, Argos told us it would but still no sign of it from them but perhaps now it may still happen via Argos.
You could of course import the 130 which we did which would then end up costing double the price which should have been around €25,it can be bought sim free from some online sellers but its sad to say the prices are double the initial RRP and even locally its on sale for a high price we had ours shipped from the UK which cost about 27 euros per unit including shipping,we got two..
Today we can now confirm that the 130 will be officially released in Ireland having knowing since last week we kept quite and waited until there was real info to validate the news our sources also told us that its official but there is no specific date for release but its 100% hitting our stores sometime this month, the 130 will be on sale for around €24.99 – €29.99 this can also be seen in some of the new catalogues just out for the month of February..We have been told it will be in or around the 2nd week this month when it hits the shops.
The 130 will be only available in single sim, there is a dual sim variant but operators here tend to stay away from such devices which is quite understandable.
The Nokia 130 can keep you entertained for hours thanks to its built-in video player, MP3 player and FM Radio.
Watching videos couldn’t be simpler, just pop in an SD card loaded with movies and the Nokia 130 can play them for 16 hours. Hello movie time!
If that’s not enough, the built-in MP3 player can pump out the tunes for up to 46 hours, that’s almost 2 days of playback! With support to store up to 6000 songs on an SD card*, you’ll never miss a beat.
You can also share your content via the SD card, USB or using Bluetooth with SLAM technology, all without an Internet connection.
If you’re on the lookout for a flexible and reliable phone look no further. The Nokia 130 is available in both Single and Dual SIM offering standby times of up to 36 days and 26 days respectively. It also gives you plenty of time to chat with friends and family with talk time for both SIM versions of up to 13 hours.
Not forgetting the beautiful design with a 1.8” colour display, inherent colouring, and built-in flashlight on the back, the Nokia 130 can take what life throws at it.
Check out our walkaround of the 130 from last year if you fancy picking one of these up when it hits the stores….we will update on this when we have more to share.
